It was another big week for real estate in the Heights and I'm once again featuring 7 new listings to help replenish the inventory of properties Still on My List. BY THE NUMBERS: FALLING INTEREST RATES
Earlier this week, in an effort to support the economy, the Federal Reserve cut the fed funds rate by 1/2%. While the fed funds rate doesn't directly impact mortgage rates (which depend on the 10-year Treasury yield), the two rates frequently move the same way for similar reasons. Buyers and homeowners are already benefiting lower mortgage interest rates.

How does the change impact buyers and current homeowners? In short:
  • For buyers, purchasing power increases.
  • For sellers, more buyers will qualify to purchase their home.
  • For existing homeowners, it is an opportunity to refinance
Per Craig Levin at First United Mortgage, " If you already own a home, this is an excellent time to refinance.  Not just to lower your rate, but you can also consider reducing your term, consolidating debt, taking cash out. If your current rate is above 3.75%, refinancing is definitely worth looking into at this point in time."
