BBBB for the Week of June 28, 2020: 🏘️ 6 New Listings + HAR news 📰

in Becky's Best Bungalow Bets, Heights

Hello BBBB Friends:

Post Father's Day slump? Reaction to news around spiking Covid-19 cases?  Summer vacations underway? For whatever the reason real estate cooled down a bit this week in the Heights. In fact, of the 23 new Heights single-family home listings this week, 20 came online in the past 3 days. After a spike in new sales contracts last week (30), the number of new contracts this week (19) is in line with previous weeks' post lockdown activity.

I am featuring 6 new listings this week. In addition, there were a number of price changes, especially in the over $1 million category. Be sure to keep scrolling down to see these price changes and don't forget there are other properties that are Still on My List.

So far HAR is keeping mum about open houses and the Harris County "Stay Home Advisory" issued on Friday. However, some brokerages have canceled all open houses while others "strongly recommend" a return to virtual open houses. I'm sure that HAR will continue to evaluate this situation but for now, open house dates and times can be found on HAR and other real estate websites such as Zillow and who get their data-feeds from HAR.

This week HAR has made changes to its room descriptions replacing the term "master" with "primary". The consensus was that Primary describes the rooms equally as well as Master while avoiding any possible misperceptions. HUD has advised that the term "master Bedroom" is not discriminatory and does not violate Fair Housing laws.  Accordingly, you may continue to see references to "master" bedrooms and baths in listing and photo descriptions.

Let’s go look at houses or talk about selling yours!!!
