BBBB for the Week of Oct 11, 2020: 🏘️ Bungalow Bonanza under $1 million! 😍

in Becky's Best Bungalow Bets, Heights

Hello BBBB Friends:

It was a banner week for new sales contracts in the Houston Heights with 34 homes going under contract. What is even more eyebrow-raising is that 8 of these new contracts are for homes priced ABOVE $1 million! The availability of jumbo loans has increased dramatically over the past few weeks spurring activity.

Listing activity was down this week and the most intriguing new listings were all bungalows priced UNDER $1 million. I'm featuring 6 that are pretty much move-in ready. There were also a significant number of fixer-uppers and potential teardowns so if you are looking for a project, give me a call to discuss.

To catch up on price changes, new contracts, and final sales for homes that are Still on My List be sure to keep scrolling down!

HEIGHTS HAPPENINGS
A Greater Heights Blood Drive is being held on Thursday from 9-2:30 at the Firehouse on 12th and Yale. Did you know you will receive a free Covid-19 Antibody test when you donate?

Also, next week is  Heavy Trash Week!! Big trash days alternate each month between tree waste and junk waste.  Wednesday will be a JUNK WASTE day. If you put your items out the night before, you'll find a lot will be gone by morning! You can also put your tree waste out, however, to ensure that it is recycled, wait till the next Tree Waste designated month or take it to a neighborhood recycling center.

Have a great week!

Let’s go look at houses or talk about selling yours!!!

Moving on...PRICE REDUCTIONS & STATUS UPDATES THIS WEEK

PRICE REDUCED

1131 Walling: $590,000 was $605,000

  • Norhill Historic District
  • Craftsman bungalow circa 1928
  • 2/2, 1321 sq ft on 5000 ft lot
  • Recent renovation/expansion
  • Original brick chimney in kitchen adds architectural interest
  • Covered outdoor living space and small yard
  • Driveway parking
  • Curbed street provides additional parking
  • Zoned to Field Elementary
There used to be a garage and could be again! For historic properties garages typically are not considered “contributing” structures and can be replaced. (Exception: some garage apartments are contributing and can't be torn down. These are listed in the inventory of contributing properties maintained by the city.)
